Some dating sites can be discriminatory by allowing women to join for free but charging men to join their online dating service.

If you do decide to join a dating personals website as a free member, beware of those sites that tell you that you have a message or someone wants to contact you. This is just a bait to get you to take out paid membership so that you can view the message  human nature, as it is, normally succumbs to temptation!

All sites advise you to avoid mentioning personal information such as your full name, address, phone number, place of employment, social security number etc. This is sound advice and really, common sense on your part. There is no point in exposing yourself to cyber stalkers. The only information that should be on your profile is your personal characteristics, not your bank details!
